We have a problem with our Exabyte which is connected to a DS3100, we tried to
make successive backups of directories with the tar command in the following
way:
% tar c1 ./dir1
% tar r1 ./dir2
The first command is completed successfully; we have been able to
extract the saved files and difference them to the original ones with no errors.
But the second command didn't work at all and gave error messages,
so we can't archive more than one directory on the same tape.
We already set ON the switches 2,3,4 on the DIP(we suppose it is the DIP
switches) after somebody's advise. We are running Ultrix 3.1.
Thanks in advance for all suggestions.
