Two weeks ago, I posted the following query:

   Does anybody have positive experience with using a third-party 4GB
   disk on the differential fast/wide SCSI bus on a Hewlett-Packard 735
   workstation running HP-UX 9.05? (We cannot install 10.0 just now.)

   (We tried using a Quantum Grand Prix 4.30 GB drive, but it always goes
   off-line a minute or so after booting. We'd like to get a fix and use
   the drive, of course, but we can write it off if another type is
   better.)

   Email please, I'll summarize.

All respondents had positive experience with Seagate ST15150WD disks,
so we are trying to find someone who will sell them to us. (The Danish
distributor only sells to dealers...) On the other hand, nobody had
tried to use Quantum F/W disks with HP, so I was out of luck there.

Other advice: The SCSI Kernel Megapatch should be installed before
using these drives. Termination is of course important.

It is also possible to buy support for the Seagate drive (and a couple
of others) on HP systems from MDL Corporation in the US.
