We recently moved to 8mm because of a HUGE increase in online capacity and quite frankly I do not want to go back to 4mm. Not that they are/were unreliable, but there is no comparision in throughput. 8mm are FASTER than 4mm with more capacity per tape. However, the 8mm Exabytes that we use require far more frequent cleanings than the 4mm. -------------------------------------- Tony Kruse SysAdmin Ford Vehicle Operations Emissions Lab Allen Park, Mi USA akruse1@ford.com --------------------------------------
