MIS MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT 
 
Position: MIS Management Consultant 
Location: Central Massachusetts 
Industry: Optical / Mfg. 
Employment Type: Contract (3-5 Months) 
Direct employment may be discussed upon completion of this assignment.

 
MIS Management Consultant is needed for a progressive optics firm in
Central Massachusetts. Individual will play a critical role in the
successful implementation of a large scale MRP system (Micro MRP and
Great Plains Dynamics software). In addition to the implementation of
the above mentioned systems, you will provide hands-on management and
daily leadership to the MIS staff dealing with a wide variety of
Information Systems & Technology issues. 
 
We seek qualified applicants with a demonstrated ability to work
hands-on  in a progressive Information Systems & Technology
environment. Additional qualifications desired include: 
�A solid understanding of the application of information technology in
a manufacturing environment. 
�Proven ability to develop MIS strategies which follows business
plans. 
�Ability to motivate, direct and support a staff of IS professionals. 
�Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
�Proven project management success including 
�Definition of roles and responsibilities 
�Establishment of milestones, timelines, and methodologies. 
�Exposure to structured implementation methodologies 
�Experience with systems conversions, particularly from one platform
to another. 
�Experience in working with and managing the activities of third party
contractors 
�A solid understanding of client/server architecture. 
�Familiarity with the present and future direction of PC technology. 
�Experience with PC LANs; preferably utilizing a Novell and/or
WindowsNT 
ethernet network. 
�Experience with PC-based systems - ideally Micro MRP or Great
Plains). 
�Experience with the installation and support of manufacturing
software packages. 
�Experience with the IBM AS/400 - preferably in a manufacturing
environment. 
�Familiarity with the OS/400 operating system and DB2/400 data base. 
�Exposure to ISO-9000.
