Transcisco Rail Services, a leading multi-location supplier of
railcar repair services is seeking a qualified AS/400 or S/38 RPG
programmer with 1-3 years experience, or a particularly sharp
recent graduate of a school that bothers to teach RPG. 
Experience with BPCS software is a plus, but not required, as is
a familiarity with a variety of popular PC-based applications
(e.g. Lotus, Word Perfect, Windows).  As long as you can code
online programs and forensically debug legacy source I'll
consider you.  We offer a resonable package of pay and benefits
and, thanks to the National Transportation and Safety Board, pre-
employment drug testing for jobs vital to the health and safety
of other people, like programmers.  Still, this is a challenging
environment, as we are revamping six-year-old systems into
something you'd be proud to have your name attached to, moving
into hand-held data collection units and upgrading our BPCS
software from version 2.0 to version 6.0.  And while we do have
to deal with converting from six to eight digit dates in some
(but not all) of our home-grown software, our system operator has
expressed a desire to learn RPG programming and a willingness to
deal with that potentially mind-numbing task.
