The Pure3D II is a much nicer board all around IMO. I'm running a Pure3D II with a Pure3D II LX in SLI mode. This allows gamers to purchase the $320 Pure3D II with the excellent TV-out and non-reference design optimized for speed, while allowing them to save a few bucks by picking up the Pure3D II LX for $279 (without the TV-out and cooling fan the Pure3D II features) to add for SLI mode gaming. See other manufacturers make you purchase another identical board and another bundle, which you are paying for. The LX performs the same as the Pure3D II and it's cheaper, it just don't come with the extras. Both are 12MB boards and they're an inch shorter in overall length. This allows it to fit in to smaller, more crowded PC cases. I'm not at all saying the Diamond Monster 3D II is a bad board. I run two 8MB versions in another machine. It's just true that the Pure3D II is a few fps faster than ANY of the reference design boards (Diamond, Orchid, Creative Labs and Wicked 3D). The Canopus stuff is also engineered by them, they didn't clone the reference design like the other companies have. Overall the Pure3D II is a rock solid performer. -- Rod White PC Multimedia & Entertainment Magazine http://www.pcme.com Terry D wrote in message <6p096l$jg2$1@oak.prod.itd.earthlink.net>... >Hi, > >I would like to know if Canopus's Pure3D II is better than Diamond's Monster >II 12mb card.
