What I did was:
1) Install the Monster3D drivers from the Diamond CD.
2) Install DirectX5.0 (Which comes with StarFleet Academy) and make
sure to overwrite your display drivers.
3) Install the latest 3DFX drivers from www.3dfx.com by finding
the Monster3D card and replacing the old driver with the new
3DFX one as per the instructions.
4) Install the latest glide stuff.
And that was it. I certainly did not hunt down all the Diamond 3DFX
stuff and delete it. In fact I have done this procedure a couple of times
and never had a problem.
Also, I have always found my Monster 3D card in the
"Sound, video and game controllers"
Part of the device manager. After I installed the latest 3DFX & glide drivers
the Monster3D control panel (in display properties) was replaced with the
3DFX one.
