      Hello,
             I have a 486 with a Diamond Stealth64 Graphics 2000
Series card with 2Meg DRAM I have the 14 inch ViewSonic 6E monitor
running at 800x600x32 bit. I see on my screen a waver or ripple if
you look closely. Is this what you all are refering to degradation?
I really do not like this card. I like my Genoa 8500VL card with 1Meg
RAM a lot better. Some of the reasons are... The ripple/flicker of
course, the brightness is not very bright ar all. I have the contrast
and brightness setting on the monitor turned all the way up and it is
still not bright enough. Also I had to turn the vertical and
horizontal setting to the max. in Win 95 and OS/2 Warp 3.0. I don't
know if that has anything to do with aspect ratio not the same as the
monitors. If I put the settings in the middle the icons screen looks
squashed together. I would like to avoid getting another card like
this one. In adjusting my monitor the few times I ever go to DOS or
for the sign on screen it is all screwed up. So the Vertical and
horizontal settings under DOS are a lot better. Although the
brightness is about the same.

                                                   John
