After all the posting about a "dream" machine, why don't just get more realistic
and think about a Bang for Buck system? It can save your $$$, and anyway the dream
system we discussed will definitely become everyone's machine after couple
of years :)

Anyways, that's my so-called bang for buck system!

1). Cryix 5x86 in a Gigabyte 486 AMP PCI Botherboard. $400 Cdn
    One 1 X 16 Mb RAM $600 Cdn

- Choose a Cryix because it has a good performance (close to a P75),
and the 486 motherboard can take a 1 X 16 Ram, which save some money
instead of 2 X 8 Ram in a Pentium motherboard.

2). Quantum 1.08 Gb Fireball EIDE $300 Cdn

- Good performace and a competitive price

3). ATI WinTurbo 2mb VRAM $345 Cdn

- Already have a Windows 95 driver and VRAM can ensure you it runs fast
  in windows and games!

4). MCD Soundblast 16 bit and a 2X Panasonic CD-Rom $168 Cdn

- Just saw an Ad. on the newspaper. A 2x CD-Rom is good for all CDs
right now, since only a few CDs have 4X format

5). Cardinal 28.8 Int Modem $180 Cdn

- Have Flash Rom, and have an OK performance

6). MAG 17 DXF $ 920 Cdn
- A solid choice for a 17 '' mon.

7). Mice, Keyboard, Case, Assembly $ 150 Cdn

Only goto 7). to save your time to read !

Total : $3063 Cdn ( approx. $2268 US)

So in summary , for $2,000 US you can a system close to a Pentium 75 speed,
16 Mb Ram , 1 Gb, Harddrive , 28.8 modem , a 17'' monitor, soundcard, Cd- rom,
etc...

I think this machine will run okay in Windows 95, and for this value I don't think
you will lose anything at all !
