Just to add my two cents worth, I have a boxed AMD K-6 233mhz on a Shuttle HOT-571 mb with 1 10ns 32mb SDRAM DIMM. Last night I benched it using Wintune 98 and it scored 611mips and 256 mflops. Yes SDRAM does make a difference as my memory scores reflected vs simms or edo ram. I abandoned intel several years ago after the p24t fiasco. If you don't remember intel released a spec for it to the mb manufactures and then changed the specs later on rendering the earlier overdrive sockets useless and forcing folks to buy new boards in order to use the intel overdrive cpu's. I've been on the AMD bandwagon ever since. AMD has intel running scared right now. Intel knows that they're about to release the K-6 3d and the K-6 +3d cpu's and they also know that they're very very fast. I think that intel's reign as chip king is over and thats good for the end user as prices will be more competitive.
