My experience was a little different... I bought an IDT WinChip 240 to
upgrade an older (single voltage, socket7) MSI motherboard, and could
not get it to work at any speed higher than 150Mhz! After upgrading my
BIOS, and trying every possible (documented and undocumented) setting on
my motherboard I gave up on the WinChip. The vender I ordered it from,
(PC Progress at http://www.pcprogress.com/ ), was very good about
allowing me to exchange that chip for an Intel P54c 166... and even
refunded the $4 price difference between the chips to my credit card!
The pentium 166 is working perfectly, so I would have no problems
recommending pcProgress.
