I would like to know if there is a cheap source of memory for the Compaq Professional Workstation 5000. This workstation uses 64 MB DIMMS that use 3.3V and ECC, EDO-buffered memory. I don't quite understand what the buffering adds, but even from third party memory manufacturers this memory is more than twice as expensive as other 64MB EDO DIMMs. Can someone help me understand why? -- Will Internet: westes AT uscsw.com PLEASE READ: to send me Internet e-mail, you will need to manually change the default reply address on this message to westes @ uscsw.com, removing the spaces on either side of the "@" character.
