Perhaps my call today to CONNER will prove enlightening. Microsoft uses a driver from Western Digital for Windows 32 bit access. It does not recognize some drives from other manufactorers which are not Western Digital compatible (for various reasons including differences in drive hardware cache, some of which give the equivalent of 32 bit access anyways). ADDITIONALLY, it does not recognize 32 bit access on drives OVER 512 MEGS. Our CONNER 540 meg drives were supplied with a 32 bit access Windows extension which gives 32 bit access (although the Windows 32 bit enhanced window button does not light) for larger drives. I recommend that you contact Seagate. No doubt that they have the driver necessary to get larger drive 32 bit access for their products. Laurence Gilbert Samurai Computers
