I know it has the "serial" disk-drive/printer daisy chain port, but I don't think this is RS232 standard. My best suggestion would be to connect them via a modem link. I know, this would be slow but the CBM64 wouldn't be capable of much beyond 2400bps anyway. It doesn't have a UART to handle the serial communications. The modems for the CBM64 plugged into the "parallel" port and the poor computer was stuck with tending to the port on a constant basis. There weren't any interrupt driven serial port routines like on the PC. You may be able to do something with the expansion port (i.e. build a card with a UART and then link it into the CBM64 via the expansion port) but this sounds extremely speculative, at best. There's a CBM64 "emulator" running around which runs on the PC. You may want to check into if it might help you run/interpret/convert old data files to the PC. I don't know much about it. I think it's available via anonymous FTP from wuarchive.wustl.edu or perhaps ftp.cdrom.com. Good Luck. Robert R. Radina radina@vulcan.inlink.com St. Louis, MO
