COMPUTER LIFE SURVEY FINDS INTEL'S REPUTATION
TARNISHED BY FLAW HANDLING, BUT BUYERS UNFAZED
SAN FRANCISCO - Dec. 31, 1994 - While Intel finally bowed to mounting
industry pressure and announced plans to offer a "no questions asked
return policy" on its flawed Pentium chip this week, a new survey,
commissioned by Computer Life magazine, reveals that buyers in the
consumer marketplace are unfazed by the imperfect chip.
The survey, released Thursday, discovered that all of the negative news
surrounding the tabulating flaws of the Pentium chip has had negligible
impact on consumers' current or future decision on whether to purchase
a Pentium-based personal computer. Computer Life magazine, the leading
special interest consumer magazine about personal computing, reports that
consumers who plan to buy a personal computer and are aware of the flaw
are not likely to change their purchases of personal computers as a result
of the flaw.

THE DOOR TO A VIRTUAL ELECTRONIC HOME OFFICE

its environment-based, user-friendly, graphical interface program Navigator.

joins the other familiar rooms from Navigator, including Kidspace,
Workspace, the Learning Center and the Software section.
Building on the original concept of Navigator, Packard Bell's new Study
environment makes accessing the many appliances bundled with the company's
PC systems easier than actually using consumer electronics equipment in a
real office environment. With the Study, Packard Bell has designed a
colorful rendering of a cozy den complete with a stereo, fax, speaker phone,
television and answering machine. All the user needs to do to access any of
these functions, is simply click the mouse on the picture of the appliance.

SCIENCE FICTION BECOMES REALITY AS NCC'S `DIGITAL DICTATE'(TM)
INSTANTLY TRANSFORMS THE SPOKEN WORD INTO ACCURATE TEXT
NCC's "DIGITAL DICTATE" makes computer voice dictation inexpensive, easy to
use, fast and accurate. With this intuitive system, anyone can talk to their
computer, and simply by using their voice, dictate and print any type of
document.
"DIGITAL DICTATE" can convert speech to text as quickly as 70 to 100 words
per minute -- faster than most people can type. Testing has shown "DIGITAL
DICTATE" to be up to 98 percent accurate, and automated proof reading easily
corrects the remainder. In addition, because the user relies on vocal
commands rather than keystrokes, its use can help prevent repetitive motion
injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis.
