I'm having what appears to be a conflict between my mouse and modem. In fact, I assume it's an IRQ conflict. Here's what happens: If I run any comm or fax program in windows the mouse will freeze up and I can't use the mouse again unless I run DOS prompt and exit. If I run a comm program under DOS, then often the modem doesn't respond until I click a mouse button or move the mouse. Then I can type "at" and get the "OK" response. I'm guessing the problems stems from the fact that the mouse is on Com1 and the modem is on com3 so they share the same IRQ. I tried resetting the IRQ for either port to 11,12, or 13 but it still didn't work properly. I'd really appreciate your help with this. Scott ------------------------------------------------------------- FRom the windows control panel, under Ports, my settings are: Base I/O Port Address: COM1: Default COM3: 03E8 Interrupt Request Line: COM1: Default COM3: 4 From MSD (Microsoft Diagnostics): IRQ 4 E538:26DA Com1:Com3 Mouse.com
