This is correct - at least as it applies to USR's implementation of V34+. Apparently the symbol tables are more robust. Two identical USR V34 Couriers which were connecting (over a somewhat marginal path) at 24,000 bps previously, now consistently achieve 26,400 bps. The only change was the new V34+ firmware was added. This doesn't mean to imply that V34+ to V34+ will always yield an improvement, tho it may and often does. I have one V34+ Courier site I call which still connects with me at 26.4 and always has, but we know why.... there are a total of 8 d/a conversions in that circuit path. Frankly I'm thrilled to get 26.4 through it. Will other manufacturer's V34+ implementation offer similar speed improvement over less than ideal conditions?
