Hyperterminal works, DUN doesn't

Hi! I'm currently trying to install a Web Excel MD200 modem (a generic
Rockwell v90 non-win modem).

I can connect with Hyperterminal to Demon (or other providers), type in my
username and password, and all appears to be going well. However, when I try
to use Win98's DUN, it connects, comes up "Verifying username and password",
waits about 30 seconds, and then says "error 625: the other computer
disconected you", or something to that effect.

Any ideas where I should look for the problem? Everything works fine using
my old modem.

Thanks

More than likely this due to Data Encryption settings for the modem, you
should be able to check this in Modem properties.

The easiest way I find to check my modem is working is to set up a D.U.N
connection to the talking clock (123).
If that works you know the modem is working, no encryption is needed as you
do not log on to the talking clock.

See how that is............
