Hi,

Are there any high quality voice modems available that have "REAL
GOOD" audio quality. I run an Advertising Agency/Recording Studio and
the sound quality of the outgoing message etc is very important. I
can't seem to find much information on this. I am thinking of
probably going with a Dialogic Pro board if there are no alternatives!

Also what are some recommendations on sotware for a small business
telephony/fax back software....

Thanks for any help!

I hear Pace modems have really good audio quality. My Diamond isn't too
bad as long as you record the messages via the sound card not the modem
mic. hole.

I recently got a US Robotics 56K internal (Canadan Import, but they are
being sold over here) and have been very impressed with the voice
performance. Its shipped with its own voice/fax/data software and can do
fax back etc... It gives the facility to record your own message or use
the default US voice and can convert incomming calls to the wave format.

Just to follow this up, I did some experimenting with the voice software
that came with my Diamond modem and I have had some truly excellent results
with files that were recorded through my sound card. I have never sat down
and had a proper play with the voice software - suitably impressive it was.
It can also play a wave file of your choice.

If you have a sound card (likely if you have a recording studio!) then you
will get far better results on message playback as for some dumb reason,
modem manufacturers have decided to put little more than an electric buzzer
on their so called 'voice' modems.
