Procomm Plus 2.1 Win: Can't download with Zmodem Help!

Hi, just trying out Procomm Plus for Windows V2.1, & faxes work OK, but
when I log into a BBS & try to download a file using Zmodem protocol,
all I get at the transfer screen is something like this:

> *0000000008

Or something like it which keeps repeating. No data comes down except
for the above which repeats every 5 secs or so, yet I can log on &
browse around the BBS OK. And the only way out is to hit CTRL-X several
times to abort the transfer. I've tried changing Com port settings in
Windows Control panel (ie flow control) and tried using different
comm.drv's in System.INI (tried comm.drv, cybercom.drv, and
rhsicomm.drv). My modem is a USR Courier V34+ external on a 16550 UART.

Can someone please tell me where I'm going wrong, or what to use as an
init string as this is driving me nuts!

Using a computer is like eating an APPLE....if the first BYTE is sour, ROTate
it round and have a NIBBLE on the other side!

Hi Nigel,

If I remember this string is used to start the automatic download within
Procomm. This can be disabled so that when you get the string you start it
yourself (I think you do this with one of the icons along the top which has
an arrow pointing downward?) There is an option which you can set that will
automatically do this - I will check where it is and follow this up later
in the week when I can get to a machine with Procomm on it.

Regards

Paul

Procomm plus v2.1 for windows works well (execptionally) with ZMODEM.
The problem u indicate is similar to one we had, when the download
directory was not specified and/or not set up on the drive. Ensure that
the download directory is specified in Procomm *AND* the directory
physically exists on the drive. Hope this helps.
