[Q] What is a difference between USR 28.8/VI and USR 28.8/V.34?

I know that VI has voice support that V.34 does not have.
But as I can see VI is less expensive. Does it mean that
plain V.34 has some features that VI doesn't?

I thought the difference was that the sportster VI comes with Voice mail
box and fax-on-demand, and plain "sportster" was very similar
modem without the voice mail and fax-on-demand features.

The various vendors I have checked generally carry the VI for
$20-$30 more (for a given speed and int/external)

Where did you see the VI for less than the non-VI ?

I guess it was USR's manufacturer's suggested price list.

No, the list price on the 28800 Vi is considerably more than Sportster.

Does the Vi 28.8 DSVD support voice mail boxing as well?
And since the Vi 28.8 DSVD is flash rom upgradable, does it support the new
33.6 kbps protocal?
Anybody

Thanks.>

The one difference right now is that the Sportster Vi doesn't support
33.6 (or V.34+ ) at the moment like the regular 28.8 does. Maybe they
shaved down costs by using that piece of shit volume control on the
Vi? Is it just me or is the regular 28.8's volume adjuster WAY better
than the thing on the Vi?
