I read in Malcolm Hoar's nice FAQ (dated 8/95) that "users of wfwg3.11 should 
replace the serial.386.....with an updated version". That would apply to me; 
mine is dated 11/93.    

I can't seem to connect to ftp.smc.com  or  ftp.best.com.    Is this where 
they are supposed to be?

BTW, could this have anything to do with comm overruns?  (I've tried just 
about every single thing in all the FAQ's, but still get them in netscape; 
though hardly with any newsreaders).

Has nothing to do with Overuns but will Fix lockups, its also on Jumbo.com,
all the MS patches and FAQ are, and I have no problems with Jumbo.com,

Get it directly from Microsoft (www.microsoft.com), filename is
WG1001.ZIP, about 7k.
