Went in Best Buy to get some backup tapes. Shelves were basically bare. When I went to the counter to ask, I noticed a hand printed sign behind the counter, where only the drones were supposed to see it, that said (as I recall) "Do not MAF, sell what's in the store". When I asked him about it, he said, on condition of anonymity, that they weren't supposed to try to get stuff for customers from other stores or warehouse or whatever, sell them what they've got. If it's not what they asked for, "sell" them. In ages past I've had them call around to other stores to locate a product for me. Guess the competition between stores has heated up. This usually indicates pressure on management to pick up volume.
