Yeah, and what's wrong with that?  This is fairly common.  I've only
had one experience where I didn't need a receipt, but then I was
making an exchange.

That's the case for most stores.  They have a huge sign up on the
wall, as well as at the checkout (at least, the one where I live
does).

Though I'm not saying best buy is a good store (i had my bad
experience when looking for a monitor), this is standard policy
everywhere.  Sometimes it may be even worse (some online computer
stores have a 15-day return policy from invoice!!)  You need to
remember to ask about it when you purchase things.
