I received a replacement drive which turned out to be bad.  It was a model 
AC31600 made *28 January 1997*!!  They were still in production less than a 
month ago!
It appears that WD's press release staff is ill informed or they are not being 
truthful about the 31600 producting being ceased in August of 1996.
