Anyone would think that *only Intel* made chipsets!

There are better Socket 7 chipsets out there than the crippled chipsets
that Intel produce. The AMD640 chipset, the Via VP2 and VP3 chipsets.

AMD640 and VP2 (essentialy the same silicon) support 2Mb of cache and is
not restricted to 64Mb cachability, as well as all of the TX's features.
VP3 also supports AGP etc. Both should be faster than their Intel
competitors.

Check out:

        http://sysdoc.pair.com/

for 'Toms Hardware Guide', if you want to know more about this stuff.

Specifically check out the FIC PA-2007 motherboard.

I always wonder why there is so little anti-Intel bias, compared to the
amount of anti-microsoft bias there is out there.

If you are trapped into x86 architecture, but want to help stop the
computer industries other monopoly, the least that you can do is buy a
non Intel processor and motherboard with a non Intel chipset.

Take care,

Mark.........
