You can say that again.

The 6 pin round PS/2 type to 9 pin din that comes with the Microsoft
Mouse is wired as follows

9pin din PS/2
  1
  2 ----------- 1
  3 ----------- 5
  4
  5 ----------- 4
  6
  7 ----------- 3
  8
  9

This does not work with an IBM, or an old Logitech M series PS/2 mouse :(
I stole it so I don't know what happens with the new Microsoft
Ergonomic (I isn't) Mouse that I stole it from :)

The 6 pin round PS/2 type to 9 pin din that comes with the Logitech
Combo mouse is wired as follows.

9pin din PS/2
  1
  2 ----------- 1
  3 ----------- 5
  4 ----------- 2
  5 ----------- 4
  6
  7 ----------- 6
  8 ----------- 3

This works with the Logitech Combo mouse into serial ports :)

In both of these the cases are connected
