Hi all, I have an 8 MB Intel740 AGP graphics card, an Abit BX6 v2.0 motherboard, and 128 MB RAM. In the bios of the motherboard there is a memory setting for the graphics card. What should I set this value to? -- Ben Thomas - Melbourne, Australia 22 - '98 Nissan Pulsar SLX sedan One good turn gets most of the blankets...

Not quite right. The default setting in most bios is 64MB, because most systems have at least 64MB of normal RAM these days. This is a graphics setting which tells your system to use normal ram (rather than the video ram) for intensive work. The graphics card can swap textures if your 8MB is not enough. Troubleshooting for all graphics cards is to reduce the AGP apperture, sometimes down to 4MB, this forces the video card to do more work. With your normal ram availability I would leave it at 64MB, if you are not having any problems. regards andrew Alecto <alecto@goulburn.net.au> wrote in message news:378D96EC.5A21@goulburn.net.au... > Ben Thomas wrote: > > > > Hi all, > > > > I have an 8 MB Intel740 AGP graphics card, an Abit BX6 v2.0 motherboard, and 128 > > MB RAM. > > > > In the bios of the motherboard there is a memory setting for the graphics card. > > What should I set this value to? > > > > 4 x the cards ram ,so 32meg > > Alecto.
