Help! Problems w/ AMD 486/66 and Netware 3.12?

Hi There,

i'm just trying to get Netware 3.12 installed on a server using a
AMD 486/66 CPU, 512 Meg IDE Drive, 1 Gig SCSI Dive, Adaptec 1542 CF.
The problem is: as soon as disk activity starts, the server
will crash (There are various error messages).
The easiest way to reproduce the errors is starting the installation surface
test, but logging into the server and copying files to the disks seems
to have the same results.
The same thing happened on two different machines, regardless of
internal/external cache turned on/off, removing/installing the Adaptec
controller, using all disks/IDE only/SCSI only,
replacing the 1542 CF with an older 1542 B, replacing the IDE controller.

I run checkit (memory, system board, hard drives) on both machines for two
days -- no error.

Can anyone give me a hint? As i suspect now, the AMD CPU may be slightly
incompatible but i really have no idea.
Can anyone confirm that netware DOES run or not on an AMD 486/66 DX2?
Does anyone have another idea?

Replies by email preferred.

In deep appreciation of any help --
Guntram
