but there are two other slots you can have tertiary
quarterny IDE controllers for a total of 8.. but i think they use up
interrupts 11/12.... (what was 12 anyway ega interrupt?) Are there
competitively priced SCSI drives in the larger size range? its all very
well to daisy chain (6? 8?) SCSI but if they are all 2 gig drives you
coulda just bought one monster drive :) Those Quantums are unfeasibly huge
now and pretty cheap.. but everything is cheap these days *sigh* I think i
may get a cheap SCSI card one day.. for those zippadeedodaa thingies..

as someone who spent entirely too much time working out the
deal w/ EIDE and LBA's and gig barriers i'd have to say i get the
impression that SCSI is a little more stable/standardized worked out as
far as setting up and installing.. and if i had found a 6-7 gig SCSI drive
for $400 (ie w/in a 25% price bracket increase) I would have bought that
rather than the eide.. just because i'd probably have less grey hairs :)
