Rocket versus 32-bit file access

I'm currently trying to decide to establish my windows 3.11
setup with either 32 bit file and disk acccess enabled or
to use the utility Rocket. Under DOS I'm certainly getting
better performance but under Windows the performance seems
almost identical (I'm using the Western Digital driver for
my two hard disks), although throughput figures measured
with PC Tools for Windows gives Rocket a slight edge.
The throughput is about 1200kbs.

My system is a standard ISA bus type.(Yep I want PCI and
Enhanced IDE)

What puzzles me is that the system feels faster with 32-bit
file/disk is enabled (yet the throughout figures suggest otherwise)
and also the completely difference sounds I get from my hard disk
when Rocket is enabled - like a high pitch whine.

Can anyone pass on their views regarding this software please.
