I went with the ZIP drive, parallel version.

I installed it today. Initially, it was a hassel. I have windows 95. After
running the guest95.exe file, I started noticing that my modem lights were
going crazy, as if the ZIP tools were probing my serial ports instead of my
parallel port. After that, the program hanged. When I tried to end that
task, the system hanged and I reset. After a second try, I turned off the
modem and then ran the guest95.exe file from a DOS window. Apparently that
worked. Since I changed two aspects of the install, I can't say for sure what
it was that corrected the situation, but I have a suspiscion that it was the
modem interfering - don't knw why since it was a completely different port.

It's convenient, and I backed up everything I ever wanted to today. However,
this parallel version is slow as balls. I'd say it moves fairly faster than
floppy speed, but that's the way it is. Although I'd like to have my backups
done in a few minutes, I really don't give two shits since this is all I
really needed - a simple backup that didn't require restoration software as
found in tape archive methods.

That's my analysis - satisfied. It's cool and groovy, but not impressive.
I'm convinced I made the right purchase, but I didn't smoke a cigar afterwards
either.
