) Kicked the shit out of Adaptec?

) How? Does the HD on your PC actually approach the limit of
) the SCSI bus anyway? Was the throughput suddenly faster? Was
) the system more responsive? Did you simply WANT DPT to win?

) Seriously, as a previous post says, someone ought to do a REAL
) benchmark, like TPS on a database server or something. Benchmark
) programs are easily fooled by caches, etc...

) Has anyone done a REAL benchmark for SCSI2 vs EIDE? Like NetBench
) or the above database server? I could imagine that for small
) (i.e. not many simultaneous requests) loads, EIDE might even
) outperform SCSI but then die off...

) ANYONE?

) btw, I too think SCSI kicks ass

I don't think you were posting what you thought you were posting.
Try a post discussing SCSI vs. EIDE. The above was discussing
the merits of various PCI SCSI controllers. Not EIDE.

Can you (above) tell me how to find Digital Processing Tech? I
cringe whenever I see adaptec price lists -- not to mention
the problems I heard that some adaptec's have with Linux...

Thanks,
