These are some of the URLs I found:(lost the other ones...)

http://www.sony.co.jp/TechnoGarage/HS/index.html
(a fairly complete description of an upcoming 3.5" 650MB MO)
http://www.fujitsu.co.jp/hypertext/oem/cataloge.html
(a casual mention of a 3.5" 640MB MO)

I saw & heard more rumors, but as I said, I lost track of 'em...

If you need something quick, try to find one of those IBM 5.25" 1.3GB
drives for around $700.00.(I believe the going price...)
Otherwise, wait for the new 3.5" opticals to come out.(many types...)
(the 5.25" 2.6GB drives are too expensive...)

The 3.5" 650MB MO looks promising.
Wish I had more "concrete" evidence of actual production...

:-)

P.S. Still, the interesting product is the "near-vaporware" Pinnacle-Micro
Apex 4.6GB, which claims to do all that the 5.25" 2.6GB MO drives do, but
more, at a lower price!
DAMN Pinnacle-Micro must be good.(to undercut the likes of Sony and HP by
as much as $1000.00) Friggin' amazing!<sarcastic>
