Firstly return any changes to their original settings ie. jumpers. to make the 3.5" your a: drive the connection on the ribbon cable which was originally for the 5.25" should be used and I don't mean the actual plug. After that is done it is important to check that the HDD ribbon cable is connected properly to both HDD and HDD controller. Finally check that your sound card or whatever you are using to connect the cd-rom is not conflicting with any other cards. Hope that Helps Al.
