********** DON'T BUT FROM EPS TECHNOLOGIES !!!!!!!!!!!!! *****************

This is a warning to any of you who may be thinking of buying a system from
EPS Technologies of South Dakota. Don't be deceived by their 6 page ad
beginning on page 26 of January's Computer Shopper. I ordered a 486-DX266
system from them on Nov. 23rd and have had ** horrible problems ** with my
order!

After complaining to the receptionist (can't get to anyone higher up) she
admitted that they have experienced major internal turmoil and have had to
fire a number of people on their small staff and are currently attempting
to cope with a crisis situation. She told me that what is left of their
customer service staff is behind up to 5 days on returning calls, not
taking any incoming calls and are extremely behind on filling orders. Don't
believe them when they tell you they'll ship in 2-3 weeks - they'll push the
date way, way back later. Among the problems I experienced:

** Their sales staff failed to answer technical questions regarding components
and never called back with an answer as they said they would.

** They failed to answer any of my 11 messages over the course of a week
   regarding changes to my order.

** They have gone ten days over due (and counting) on the arrival date for
   my system.

** They never sent me an amended invoice to OK before shipment as is their
   policy.

** Hold times of over a half-hour on their 800 line.

I don't dispute what happened to this guy: just wanted to say that we've made
EPS our prime vendor for Electrical Engineering Department pcs over the last
couple years, partly because of their responsiveness and great support. I
hope whatever's going on there now gets resolved: we've been very happy with
their product and service to date. Breaking in a new vendor is a hassle . . .
