Hi, I am doing research on computer prices for my economics PhD research,
and I need some people experienced with values/prices of computers to look
at some computer descriptions and tell me what is the most they would be
willing to pay for them. This shouldn't take more than 10 minutes of your
time. Please do it now, so you don't forget to do it before the deadline
(This Sat! July 20). If you don't get this message before the deadline, I
can still use your input, but you can't qualify for the $1000 prize (you
can still qualify for the $60 prizes).

The descriptions are in a survey style format, and I've been funded so
that people can get a chance to win $1000 for every 10 descriptions they
look at. Of particular interest to you may be the $60 prizes for the
people who come closest to the prices given by others with computer
experience like yourself.

Although I'm looking for experienced people, I'm also interested in
non-experienced people's responses. They can go for $60 prizes by coming
closest to the prices given by others like themesleves. So please send
this on to your grandparents, parents, siblings, cousins, friends, and
co-workers for extra chances at winning! (International contributions
welcome, I will normalize currency later)

All completed surveys will be entered in a drawing for two $1,000.00
prizes and thirty $60 prizes. For each friend you get to do the survey,
you get an extra chance to win. Deadline for all submissions is 11:59pm,
July 20, 2002. E-mail pyin@stanford.edu if you can't make the deadline but
still want to participate. Prize details are at
http://www.stanford.edu/~pyin/details.htm

Thanks very much! Email pyin@stanford.edu if you have questions. Privacy
will be honored; no names or emails will be released except for the
winners' (posted at my website 1/1/03).

This is research? Ugh!

I just downgraded my opinion of a PhD from Stanford.
