Dual Athlon or Dual P3?

Hi.
I have a small limited budget to get a new PC at work.
I'd like to get a dual processor machine and I am seeking advice on
stability and performance issues.

From various reviews that I've seen, it looks like the dual Athlon
completely kicks butt, but I've heard from some people that they have
stability problems.
I plan on running Linux and possibly a small bit of Windows, but
probably only under VMWare.

I'd also like to avoid getting graphics on the motherboard. I'd like
to get a GeForce 3.

Dual Athlon boards:
Asus (???)
Tyan Thunder (S2462ung) (~ $500)
Tyan Tiger (S2460) (~ $250)

Dual P3 boards:
Asus CUV4X-D (~ $170)
Asus CUV4X-DLS (~ $330)
Abit VP6 (~ $140) max CPU speed??

Recommendations and comments are appreciated.

Thanks!
-Ralph

I recommend Dual P3. Standard motherboard size and fully tested, Athlon
boards are sort of new.

Athlon is the new one on the market. But I would try it!

There speed and performance doesn't lie!

Just make sure you have proper cooling.

Of course, I will try Dual Athlon. Take look at all review about
Dual Athlon system. Seems like Tiger motherboard is pretty good.
Dual Athlon performance is much much faster than Dual P3 system.
