don't overclock your cpu. if it's a 300, run it at 300 unless you are positive
you know what you are doing.

download the new SBLIVE drivers, they make a large difference believe it or
not.
Creative is the driver King.
set your hard drive cache to min 4 mb max 4mb, set your swap file to 200 mb
min and max.

turn everything else off while you're playing.
if that doesn't work, buy more ram and a faster cpu
