Since the V3 is really a fast B2 (flame on), and the Banshee did have some compatibility problems, are there any games that will *not* work on a V3 without patches? (This includes DOS based 3dfx games--like TombRaider and Descent2). Any games with glitches? Any URL's would be useful...as I am debating whether to pick up a V3 next weekend (weekend after E3), or go for TNT2 and a second V2 card...so i really need some feedback here... thanks Remove the * to reply by email. I thought Sharky's review on the TNT2 was great.. I'm still not sure if I trust Sharky, but overall, I've seen no issues. I bought the V3/3k, it's running at 185mhz stable as a rock. Voodoo's are known for not being as CPU dependant, which may or may not matter so some depending on whether you can afford only a K6-300 or you can buy intel's Net-superpowers P3. I run Q3 at 1024 with NO issues at all. It runs like a charm. Unreal runs at 1280x1024 perfectly, and it only cost me $149. The way I see it, for an extra $100 I can buy 32bit rendering from Hercules TNT2-ULTRA, and even then, for that card to surpass my V3, I've got to overclock it (which I'd gladly do). If I were you I'd buy a V3/2k because it's cheap ($129 possibly cheaper on sale), it's very overclockable (usually 170+mhz) and really, all these cards are only a stepping stone between the Voodoo2 generation and the real advancement to be made later this year. I'm hoping Matrox will step up to the palte and show us that they value their reputation, but regardless, I trust that 3dfx will produce a card that will meet the needs of the trolls and whiners as well as people like me who just want to play an awesome game at an awesome resolution with MANY FPS, and with the visual quality I want.
