V3 on P2-300

Hi,

I'm just wondering how much a performance increase I would get by
getting a V3 3000 and getting rid of my 8 meg V2 on my P2-300 w/ 64 megs
of RAM. Is it worth getting? I can sell my V2 for $60 to someone,
since they've already asked for it. My main concern is for Halflife,
since I'll be playing a lot of TFC and probably UT and Q3 when it comes
out. And please don't tell me to get a TNT2. I just want to know if a
V3 is worth the upgrade from an 8 meg V2 on a P2-300.

Thanks,
Tim

getting a v3 is a good idea, the extra ram will get you more performance and
let you load bigger more complex/realistic textures. you also might wnat to
look into tnt2 because it does 32 bit.

I just put a v3 2000 in my celeron 400 PC and it flies. I can't get tfc to
work anymore though. It worked with my v2 12 meg but there must be some
setting or config that I have missed.
As to whether or not it's worth it, I only had a 2 meg 2d card and was
afraid that my computer would run too hot if I tried sli - so for me it's
great. Plus I can sell my 12 meg voodoo 2.
