I have just installed this card, and the picture is fine on all
channels, but there is a background noise that sounds like FM or TV
interstation 'sssshhhhh' kind of noise on channels 7 and 28. The sound
is perfect on the other channels. The volume level of the audio is lower
on those two channels as well. I have a very good antenna setup, so
there is no problem there. There is also no problem with the CVBS input
either. Can anyone shed any light on this problem please?

I suffered a similar problem with this card, on channel 7 only. I found that
by adjusting the fine tuning with the remote, I could find a compromise
where the sound & picture were both good.
I never got to the bottom of the problem because I got a TV2000XP Pro card
(stereo) & it works fine. I think there's an inherent design fault, I have
certainly come across other people with the same issue with this card.

Thanks. That tells me what I need to know. I was wondering if I had a faulty
card. I have managed to get a reasonable result with the fine tuning, and I
notice the the sound (only) becomes clear on both ch. 7 and ch. 28 at minus
1000khz, so that would seem to suggest a design fault or hardware fault. I don't
think there could be a solution either, because the fault is with the product
itself. The only possible fix would be an updated or different driver.

It really annoys me that a product continues to be sold with a known defect,
while all the time being praised and recommended. The box has the sticker 'PC
User Top buy'. I think it amounts to fraud of some kind to sell a known faulty
product, as I don't think that the manufacturer would be ignorant of the
problem. There is no tech support link on the website either, only an FAQ, so
perhaps they are ducking for cover.
