NO don't plug in a CGA monitor to the connector, you may damage it beyond
repair.

I seems like you have a card that is able to emulate CGA-graphics on a
monochrome (Hercules) monitor. I have just such a card.
From the computers point of view the card seems to be a CGA-card.

To solve your problem, if you have a card like mine, you jut set the jumpers
on the card to make the card have CGA emulation mode as the default mode and
change the BIOS settings to color and it should work.

If you have a AMI-bios you way get the message "Display switch not proper"
on bootup just press F1 and ignore that. I haven't come across any program
that needs CGA that won't run with setup.

BTW. I bought my card second hand and ididn't get the programs to switch
between (is it really spelled like that?) the different modes of the card.
Do you know where i can get them? Or maybe you can mail them to me, if you have
them of course? I have a little booklet that describes the card and the names
of the programs are named there, but i can't remember neither their names nor
the manufacturer of the card.
