The Maveric 540 and Fireball are >comparible in program execution but not for system files. You're kidding, right? Comparing 5 year old drives with <1 year old drives? The Fireball SCSI has a braindead SCSI interface which couldn't keep up with the drive and the Maveric is old, too (and slow). >The Micropolis 4221WAV is much faster than the IDE but at a price of >over $800. You could simply buy SCSI drives which are as fast as or faster than any IDE drive. The difference in price is not the big issue anymore. A really fast drive _isn't_ cheap - if it's SCSI or IDE.
