note about MTBF (mean time between failure) ratings: there are only 8760
hrs/year so 40,000 hrs is around 4.5 years

  $120  Ultrastor 12F(Hard & floppy, 32K cache, 24MHz) controller
    $5  Drive rails (regular or Compaq), power cable, ESDI cable
   $20  Disk formatting software, Ontrack or Storage Dimensions
