Hi there...sorry to bring this up again if someone has already asked
this, but I've got a few queries about getting a new motherboard:

I'm thinking of getting a 486DX-33 VLB motherboard, and could do with
some advice as regards versions of VESA, ZIF, BIOS, etc..

I would ideally like to get hold of a motherboard that will take the
new DX4 chip, and I've been told this requires the 3.3V ZIF socket..?
Trouble is, the dealers that I've asked haven't got a clue what
version ZIF their boards have!!..Could someone explain to me the different
version ZIF sockets there are? I believe that the different versions
have different colours?

My previous motherboard used AMI BIOS, which I thought was good, but
does anyone have a recommendation as to which BIOS is better than
another??!

When buying a motherboard through a magazine, there doesn't seem to be
much to go on...they mearly point out that it's a 486DX-33 VLB, and that's
normally it!! What else should I be looking for?

Can anyone in the UK recommend a place to get a good motherboard as
specified above?

Sorry about all the questions, but if you don't ask you'll never know!

Paul.
