I am having trouble locating a high-resolution monochrome monitor
that will attach to a '486 computer with a good display adapter.

The resolution that I would hope for is 1280 x 1024 x 256 shades
of grey.  If that is impossible, what about 1024 x 768 x 256
shades of grey.

The display adapter would be either a Compaq Qvision, or one
based on 

ATI 68800 (Ultra pro) **or** S3-928 **or** Tseng Labs ET4000W32i
