This is my second trial to get information about videotex (or cfax,
texttv.... depending on the country) and computers.
To clear the noise from various linguistic barriers: the videotex is a
name for the normally unvisible text pages broadcasted together with
normal TV programs in most european TV channels. Technically, this
is achieved by mapping the ascii characters of the text to the
unutilized part of the video signal generating the programs
(e.g. pictures and sound). You can read these pages by using (what used
to be an optional but nowadays almost standard ) the videotex decoder on
your TV and the remote controler.

I would like to buy a videotex hardware and software FOR A PERSONAL
COMPUTER (probably an IBM PC compatible). The purpose
would be to decode the antenna or the video signal and retrieve
the ascii characters. I would like to know what
there is available on the european market. I have so far found
two companies: one in Great Britain and one in Germany, both
offering equipment with varying options. I would appreciate
it very much if I could receive some e-mails (as I posted this in
several places) informing me about what is available. Even opinions
of those people who have such equipments would be greatly wellcome.
If I receive sufficient answers I will post a news article summarizing
the response.

Thank you in advance
