A word about the above modem.

I do not recommend the use of Hayes' FACTORY
default modem initialization string. It just
doesn't give good results, in my opinion.


STRONG SUGGESTION FOR ACCURA 33.6  - INTERNAL FAX MODEM VOICE

ENTER THE FOLLOWING:

AT&F [enter]

AT &C1 &D2 &K3 &Q5 V1 M1 L3 W1 Q0 X4 %C2 \N4 S36=5 [enter]

[ NOTE: REMOVE ALL SPACES IN THE ABOVE LINE ]

AT&W [enter]

IN YOUR WINSOCK/DIALUP USE EVERY TIME:
--------------------------------------

ATZ [enter]


And also in the dialup entries:
-------------------------------

MSS: 536
MTU: 576
RWIN: 2144


I believe the above string provides the best RESULTS for the Hayes
Accura 33.6 bits/sec model.

e.g. you'll get the compression protocol information and real
connection speed information. Also, it will turn off the redundant
MNP5 compression in favor of the smart v.42 "bis" compression, etc.

Their are to many variables to make statements like that
