I have just put together a 386 PC from a kit. I installed 4MB SIMMS memory in bank 0. When running some programs I get the message (with description) Parity Error ??? - Use memory diagnostic software such as AMIDIAG, to find and correct memory problems. As the computer is brand new I wonder if it would perhaps solve the problem if I remove the SIMMS and re-insert them carefully into the motherboard ( or would this be a fruitless exercise). Also where would I get hold of AMIDIAG as no software disk was supplied with my machine ( or is some equivalent program available from an ftp site somewhere) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks from Richard (rjt@dcs.warwick.ac.uk)
